Overdose
I overdosed from “The Introduction”
All this time I’ve been searching for the right moment
I can tell I’ve waited “Long Enough”
Her “Therapy Sessions” healed my soul
Reading while lost within her work
I found myself in the process
See that’s the even “Exchange”
But now we’re in our Third Chapter
Better yet our “Decade Three”
Shelly said, she was told by a “Honey Bee”
If I “Love the Poet” one day, I wouldn’t have to wait
Till the last Friday of the month to “Be free”
So “Come On Son”
Life is about the reveal
She revealed herself to me, found on Page 50 of the Exchange
Said – “MUSES don’t have Microphones…
But they can damn sure rock the shit out of a denim jacket, LISTEN
I overdosed a while back, about the time she rocked said denim jacket
Way before she rocked the braces
See my journey started out in Brooklyn
But it ended in the location placed above the hat brim
Queen silencing my demons like “I bet you thought you had him! “
A lot of people will want to spend time with you, only a handful will invest in you.
Her poetry was her investment within me. I overtly consume every device she speaks. / Overdose.
